ST. JOHN, IN – Mike Ninkovich, age 68 passed away on Wednesday, December 23, 2020.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 39 years, Cyndi; daughter, Ashlee (Bryan) Skaggs; two sons: Matthew and Michael Ninkovich; grandsons: Nolan and Carson; sisters: Radmila (Nick) Grubnich and Brenda (John) Brakulis; stepmother, Dosta Ninkovich; and many loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rajko and Gospava Ninkovich.
Mike was born in Gary, IN on June 7, 1952. He graduated from Gary Emerson High School and went on to Valparaiso University and Indiana University and obtained a Degree in Accounting. He worked in the car business for 40 years and retired from Harbor Automotive Group.
Mike's love was spending time with his family and friends and will be remembered by his amazing personality and loyalty. He thoroughly enjoyed golfing at Innsbrook Country Club, and watching the Chicago Bears and IU Basketball with his sons.
Private family services will be held. A memorial to honor Mike will be set at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Church would be appreciated.

My condolences to the Ninkovich family on the passing of Mike. Mike and I were best of friends growing up around Emerson HS and then roomates at IU. Mike and your family was always so welcoming growing up. Even when eating a lambs head, something this Irish boy had never done. He was very loyal and always had my back throughout school. I regret not staying in touch with Mike after I moved to Florida after IU graduation, but it appears that he has left the world better with some wonderful children that will carry on his values. old friend RIP.

I am deeply saddened by Mikes passing. He and Dan Sever were my roommates at Valparaiso in 1972. Being from a small rural town, I learned a lot from my long talks with those two. They were both fiercely proud of their heritage. I found them both to be helpful friendly great people. My heart goes out to Cyndi and all of your family.

The Ninkovich Family,
Our deepest condolences on the passing of Mike. Another good Emersonian. Ninko was in our neighborhood on the East Side of Gary and our neighbor in Innsbrook. We had many laughs and fun times, during the years. Mike was was especially kind and generous to our boys, growing up.
