Milka Lekich (nee Adamovic) SOUTH CHICAGO - Milka Lekich (nee Adamovic), age 86, from S. Chicago, born on February 28, 1932. Reposed in the Lord on Sunday, September 23, 2018. She passed away surrounded by family in her home in Hammond, IN. She was the beloved mother of Violet Ljubica Roberts, Nada Vukobratovich and son late Milan Lekich. She was born in Lika (Vaganac 3, Titova Korenica), Yugoslavia. She is preceded in death by her husband Petar Lekic, her parents Dmitar and Marta (nee Vranjes) Adamovic, her sister Anka (her son Mirko Adamovic, her daughter Milka (Cuka) Mikesic), her brother Mico (Jelka) Adamovic with their son Branko, her son-in-law Harry Roberts, and her beloved son Milan Lekich and grandson Stefan Lekich. She is survived by her two daughters Violet Ljubica and Nada (William), devoted Baba-sitter Diane Vukobratovich Mata; six grandchildren: William (Anna) Vukobratovich, Peter (Sarah)Vukobratovich, Tanya (Joe) Martin, Nicole (William) Hipp, Michelle (Jimmy) Vukobratovich Snyder and Sabrina Roberts; 16 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. She enjoyed the simple things in life such as singing the poems and songs of her childhood, crocheting, and listening to birds sing. She touched many lives with her genuine, humble, and kind ways; many knew her as "Baba." Funeral Services at St. Archangel Michael Serbian Orthodox Church; Lansing, IL, Thursday, September 27, 2018. Milka will lie in state at church from 11:00 a.m. until time of Service at 12:00 p.m. (Noon), with the Very Rev. Dr. Milos Vesin Officiating. Interment Oak Hill Cemetery; Hammond, IN.
