Owen "Butch" Feldt

1935 - 2025

Owen "Butch" Feldt of Valparaiso passed away Wednesday, November 19, at VNA Hospice. Born December 8, 1935, in Milwaukee to the late Owen Matthew Sr, and Ruth (McDermott) Feldt, he spent his childhood in Saugatuck Michigan. He joined the army, was stationed in Korea, and returned to his family in Indiana. He worked for and retired from American Water. In 1958 he married Betty May (Lamphier) Feldt. They moved to Wheeler where he served on the Volunteer Fire Department and the school Advisory Board. He is survived by his daughters Debora (Mike) Porter, Linda (David) Gaddis, Karen (Jim) Lintner. He is survived by grandchildren Rebekah (Tucker) Peterson, Aaron (Anthony) Newton-Porter, Anna (Jeff) Allman, Kevin (Katie) Marshall and Adison Lintner. He is also survived by 6 great grandsons, Issac and Brian Peterson, Thackery and Vrohan Allman, and Ben and Aiden Marshall. Following Betty's death, he married Judy (Searle) Harper-Feldt who survives him. He will be missed by his many nieces, nephews, family friends and neighbors. He is preceded in death by his first wife Betty, sisters Betty (Mickey) O'Brian, and Ann (Ray) Jackson. A celebration of life will take place on Saturday, December 6 at 6:00 p.m. at Gelsosomo's in Valparaiso. Donations may be made to Honor Guard, VNA Hospice, or St. Jude's Hospital for Children.
