Paul Harding Obituary

PAUL HARDING, JR. "CUBBY" CROWN POINT, IN
Paul William Harding, Jr., known affectionately to all as "Cubby", age 45, of Crown Point, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, July 28, 2015. Cubby was born on January 9, 1970 in Gary, IN and spent his early years in Hammond, IN. He was a 1988 graduate of Munster High School where he was active in sports. He attended Ball State University where he studied Liberal Arts. He also lived for many years in Daytona Beach, Florida. He worked tirelessly for BMW in several capacities over the years. Cubby is the much loved husband to Merrilynn, and doting father to Liam, age 5 and Avery, age 3. In addition to his wife and children, Cubby is survived by his mother and father: Ruth and Lance Dodson; his brother and sister-in-law: Chris and Melissa Harding; his step sisters and their husbands: Valerie and Ron Vasilopulos; and Nicole Dodson and Steve Kral. Also surviving are his wife Merrilynn's family; mother, Lynn Vranesevich; sister and brother-in-law: Michelle and Brett Friedman; and brother, Anthony Vranesevich. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and too many friends to count. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Mary Harding; father, Paul Harding, Sr.; and father-in- law, Michael Vranesevich, Jr. Cubby loved life, his family, and sports. He was mischievous and always up for a prank. He also was a fantastic grill master - grilling for his family and neighbors. He was an avid fan of Notre Dame, the Bears, Cubs and Blackhawks. The family is very grateful to all of Cubby's dear friends - old and new - who gathered around his wife, children and family to provide support. A Celebration of Cubby's life will be held on Monday, August 3, 2015 at Geisen Funeral, Cremation & Reception Centre, 606 E. 113th Ave./South St., Crown Point, IN 46307. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. until the time of the Memorial Service at 5:00 p.m. Due to the recent battle with breast cancer that Cubby's mother endured, he became passionate about breast cancer awareness; therefore in lieu of flowers, donations may be given in Cubby's memory to the Mayo Clinic Breast Cancer Research, Jacksonville, FL, https://philanthropy.mayoclinic.org/ For information, to view directions or to sign Cubby's online guestbook: (219) 663-2500 www.GeisenFuneralHome.com

We were so blessed to have met Paul and his beautiful bride this past May at a work appreciation event in Grand Cayman. They were such a sweet couple and so happy we had the pleasure to meet them. I remember thinking what an amazing smile and personality Paul had and he beamed with lova and happiness for life. We pray for strength and comfort for each of you during this time and for the days ahead of you. So very sorry for the loss of Paul.

I am truly blessed to have met Cubby, work side by side (where I realized he was a true prankster) which has developed into a great friendship. His smile and laugh assisted me of letting go of my stresses and worries. What a wonderful person we have lost.
Love you Cubby and I'm am certain we will meet again.

May our Lord help guide Cubby's family and loved ones in finding peace in this time of sorrow.
