PAUL SAPITA, JR. CALUMET CITY, IL
Paul Sapita, Jr., age 85, of Calumet City, IL, passed away Thursday, April 9, 2009. He is survived by two sons: Richard (Denise) Sapita of Crown Point and Donald (Rene)Sapita of Calumet City, IL; two daughters: Barbara (Jerry) of Calumet City, IL and Donna (Ken) Reach of IA; grandchildren: Kelly, Kaitlin, Kimberly and Matthew Sapita; Rachel and Andrew Sapita; Dallas Jenkins; Kenny, Meredith and Kathryn Reach; and two great grandchildren: Zoe and Storm. Preceded in death by his wife, Anna, in March 2000; grandson, Christopher Michael; brothers: Peter, Stephen and John; sisters: Paula and Ann. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 15, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. DIRECTLY at the Descent of the Holy Spirit Orthodox Church, 545 E. 77th Ave., Schererville, IN with Rev. Father Lev Holowaty officiating. Paul will lie in state from 9:30 a.m. until time of service. At rest Holy Ghost Cemetery, Hammond. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday from 2:00-8:00 p.m. at the Solan-Pruzin Funeral Home, 14 Kennedy Ave., Schererville, IN (corner of Main and Kennedy). Panahida Tuesday 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Descent of the Holy Spirit Building Fund. Paul was a longtime area resident, church and board member of Descent of the Holy Spirit Church, retired from Youngstown Steel with 41 years of service, a veteran of WWII, member of Moose Club Lodge #570 since 1953, retired from The Council.
