Robert Erdelac Obituary
April 28, 1941 - March 30, 2024
Robert (Bob) Joseph Erdelac of Brighton, Colorado formerly of Northwest Indiana died March 30, 2024 at the age of 82. Bob was born in Gary, Indiana on April 28, 1941 and retired from NIPSCO as a lineman after 35 years. He was a graduate of Lew Wallace High School where he was on the state swim team. While being a life guard at Marquette Park beach, he met the love of his life Marianne (Kalin) Erdelac who preceded him in death. Bob was an avid hunter and fisherman as well as a charter boat captain on Lake Michigan where he spent many hours with clients and his family on their boat the Sweet Cindy. Bob is survived by his sisters Marianne (Bill) Silaghi of Florida and Lucy (Ted) Erdelac of Pennsylvania; brother Ed (Donna) Erdelac of Indiana; his daughter Cindy (Randy) Jones of Colorado; sons Ken Erdelac of Colorado and Todd Erdelac of Indiana; and three grandchildren Gabrielle Erdelac-Newman, Kailee and Kyle Erdelac

My deepest sympathies to the Erdelac family, especially Cindy, Ken and Todd in the loss of your father. I worked for your mom in education at St Mary´s and thought the world of her. They are together again. My husband Don, Grady White named Shellback, remembers your father from Shema´s in Merrillville and out on the lake. They often shared many fishing stories. Rest in Peace.

Bob and I go back many years being fishing buddies. I remember all the fish conversations we had at Shemas Outdoor Sport store over a cup of coffee. Bob was a friend who was always there when you needed help and a great fishing partner. I missed him when he moved to Colorado but all the good times we had together were always remembered.
