Robert Thomas McCloskey, age 92, of Long Beach, IN, formerly of Calumet City, IL, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 14, 2025.

He was born on October 27, 1932 to Raymond and Kathryn McCloskey. Bob was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wives, Marilyn McCloskey and Marsha McCloskey; daughters, Kathy Lynn and Kolleen; and his siblings, Raymond (Annali) McCloskey, Kathryn (Orleen) Piccirilli, Betty (Jim) Cole, Dorothy (Michael) Ferrantella and James (Marilyn) McCloskey.

He retired after 43 years in a management position at American Maize/Cerestar/Cargill in Hammond, IN. Bob also served his community with dedication, including nine years as president, secretary, and board member of Lincoln Elementary School in Calumet City, IL. In addition to his career, Bob was a licensed real estate broker for 17 years in both Indiana and Illinois. Travel was one of Bob's greatest passions. Over the years, he journeyed across six continents, exploring the world with deep curiosity. Even after turning 90, he continued his adventures traveling solo to Portugal and Iceland.

Bob was known for kindness and his sharp mind. He enjoyed reading the Wall Street Journal and the Chicago Tribune daily. He was dearly loved by his entire family. He is survived by his grandson, George, along with many nieces, nephews, and step family members.

Friends are invited to celebrate Bob's life on Wednesday, October 22, 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Schroeder-Lauer Funeral Home, 3227 Ridge Rd., Lansing, IL. Bob will be laid to rest in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens in Schererville, IN. www.schroederlauer.com
