Robert "Bob" Santay

Robert "Bob" Santay, 93, of Crown Point, passed away February 9, 2025 after a short illness. He was born in East Chicago to George and Estelle (Maciones) Santay. He is preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Elizabeth (Betty) Santay, his second wife Jeannette Raschke-Santay, and his son-in-law Raymond Cloyd.

He is survived by his children: Kathleen Cloyd, David (Maribeth) Santay, Dennis (Kim) Santay, and Donald (Liz Cole) Santay; grandchildren: Kelly, Lauren, Kara, James, Colleen, Brian, and Erin; great grandchildren: Hunter, Dylan, Luke, Henry, Jayce, Jackson, and Sophie; his sister Evelyn (late Fred) Corban; and stepchildren Kathleen Raschke, Barbara (Doug) Josvai, Nancy (Hiland) Weaver, and Patricia (Robert) Schilling.

Bob served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked in numerous jobs before retiring from LaSalle Steel. Bob loved watching when his children and grandchildren played sports. He enjoyed watching IU Basketball with Betty and enjoyed traveling across the country with Jeannette.

A memorial service will be held at St. Mary Church, 525 N Broad St in Griffith, on Saturday, March 8, 2025 with a visitation from 9 am until the time of the 10 am funeral mass. Burial to follow at St. John/St. Joseph Cemetery in Hammond. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Bob's memory to the American Lung Association. www.fagenmiller.com.
