Rosemarie Kaminski Obituary

ROSEMARIE VIOLET KAMINSKI BOLTON, MA
Rosemarie Violet Kaminski, born December 10, 1932 in East Chicago, IN, passed away at the Parmenter Foundation Hospice in Wayland, MA on July 19, 2016 after an extended and valiant struggle with congestive heart failure. Rose is survived by her daughter Wendie; sons: Tim and Ron; daughters-in-law: Pam and Barbara; grandchildren: Leonard, Amanda and Amber; brother Ronald Galosich and his wife Anita; numerous, beloved, afghan- owning nieces and nephews, and her loyal life-long friends. Rose was preceded in death by her husband Leonard Richard Kaminski; daughter Lenore Kaminski; sister Lucille Balas, and parents Mildred Pericich (nee Galosich) and Nicholas Galosich who both came to America from Verona/ Verunic, Dugi Otok, Croatia. Rose, a proud 1950 graduate of East Chicago Washington High School and Senator basketball season ticket holder, was a long time resident of northwest Indiana, including "The Harbor", East Chicago, Hammond and Munster. Rose also spent years in Henderson, NV to be with her sister Lucille and niece Marcia. Rose's final year and half residence was at Bolton Country Manor in Bolton, MA where she made a group of lovely new card-playing friends. Special thanks to the visiting nurses and hospice staff from the Parmenter Foundation who became Rose's caretakers and confidants. Vastly well read, Rose constantly knew the final Jeopardy question, and was a crossword puzzle wiz. Ever political, near the end, Rose said, "Well, at least I don't have to vote in this next presidential election." Rose's greatest joys were the parties and meals with her family and friends. She asked that they remember the laughter and fun times. Rosemarie will be inurned at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in Calumet City, IL on August 6, 2016, next to the love of her life, husband Leonard Kaminski.

Kaminski family,

Our GFFIH basketball group, that still attends EC basketball games to this day, is sorry to read of Rosemarie's passing. I remember her well working security at basketball games at ECW while I was a police officer in EC. May your memories of Rosemarie soothe you, your friends comfort you, and your family's strength help your hearts begin to heal. May the love you shared sustain you through this time of sorrow. Please accept our deepest sympathy from our entire membership.

My dearest Aunty Rose, to say you will be missed is an understatement. You taught me about integrity, compassion, friendship and love and showed me the strength a woman should have. You and Mom were the most perfect role models any girl could hope to have. I will try not to cry at the final Jeopardy question that you were almost always able to answer correctly. I will try to remember always one if your favorite sayings and 'just keep swimming...' Love you always, Marcia
