Sandor Csatari passed away at the age of 82 on November 14, 2024. Sandor is survived by his loving wife Vicki, his daughters Dana (Dan) Dumezich and Cathy Csatari, Stepchildren Chadd (Kristine) Arthur, Justin (Leah) Arthur, and Kasi (Brian) Adkins. He is also survived by his Grandchildren Alexandra and Steve Dumezich, Step-Grandchildren Nathan and Bailey Arthur, Corban and Reid Arthur, Keaton and Kaelyn Loudermilk. He is survived by his sister Irene Sayles Manahan, Aunt Ida Kocsis, nieces and nephew Barbara Vidacs, Judy Kocsis, Ida Kocsis Salisbury, and Mike Sayles. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Sandor and Barbara Csatari, his Aunt Margaret and Leslie Vidacs who raised him. He was also preceded in death by his nephew Leslie Vidacs, Jr., and niece Marla Sayles.

Sandor was born in Budapest, Hungary on April 14, 1942. He grew up in Tatabanya, Hungary a town greatly affected by World War II and the Soviet occupation. In 1956, he and his sister, Irene escaped to the United States with "Operation Mercy", which was an effort by the United States to free people from Communism. He entered the US Army in 1960 at Fort Campbell, Kentucky and was honorably discharged. He gained his US citizenship in 1963. After separating from the US Army, he secured a job at the Assembly Plant of Ford Motor Company in South Chicago and moved to Northwest Indiana to start a family. He was always curious, had a love of learning and possessed skills in multiple areas. Sandor resided in Northwest Indiana until he retired early to enjoy life. He and his wife Vicki moved to New Concord, Kentucky where they spent many wonderful years traveling, winemaking, gardening and turning their home into their own personal "Shangri-La." A private memorial service will be held for the family in Northwest Indiana.
