Steve "Hippie Steve" Bodo

STEVE BODO "HIPPIE STEVE" PORTAGE, IN Steve "Hippie Steve" Bodo, 73, of Portage, passed away peacefully at 2:27 p.m., Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at St. Mary Medical Center, Hobart. On October 23, 1940, in Yugoslavia, Europe, he was born to Andrew and Anna (Schwieger) Bodo. Hippie Steve loved traveling and bonfires with friends and family. He enjoyed going to casinos, the White Sox, Bears, and boxing. Hippie Steve enjoyed his retirement. He was a member of the Glen Park Eagles and had worked at EJ&E Railroad for 40 years. Surviving are his love of his life and partner, Shirley Radusin; two children: Theresa Bodo of Portage and Katherine Bodo of Lake Station; one brother, Anthony Bodo of Lake Station; five step children: Daniyela Hashem, Nicole, Mara, Alex, and Lauren Radusin; and ten grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his parents; one sister, Eve Hofferber; and two brothers, Pete and Joe Bodo. A celebration of life will be from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Saturday, September 27, 2014 at the Fraternal Order of Eagles, 20 W. 37 th Ave., Hobart, Indiana 46342. Midwest Cremation Center, 678 E.
