TROY MOSES Obituary

TROY L. MOSES, JR.
Troy L. Moses, Jr. was born June 23, 1931 in East Chicago, IN to the late Troy Moses, Sr. and Ruthie Lee Moses. He was an only child. Troy departed this life on December 2, 2013. He was preceded in death by his parents; and son, Anthony Gearring. He was a Chicago resident. Troy attended E.C. Washington, in East Chicago. He joined the United States Army, serving from 1948-1951. After his completion in the Army, he worked at U.S. Steel Buffington Plant from 1954-1963, Republic Steel from 1963-1966, and Antique Dealer for 25 years. As an antique dealer, he was known as "The door knob man" with customers as far as California. He enjoyed watching sports; basketball, football and baseball. Troy liked to read, do puzzles and play the lottery. He loved his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. "Daddy said he lived good and hard". But he did the best he could. He was a very kind man. He leaves to cherish his memory, daughters: LaToya (Calvin) Tracy, Berniece and Teneka Hart; sons: Keith, Kevin Moses, Dennis Gearring, and Troy Hart; godson, David (Richie) Brinkley; longtime devoted friend, Lillian Hill; longtime friends: Diane Brinkley, Barbara Fayson; cousins: Clifton, Cynthia and Artis Johson; 14 grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends. My Dad always would say "It is what it is." Troy will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Funeral service Friday, December 13, 2013 at Golden Gate Funeral Home, 2036 W. 79th Street, Chicago, IL at 11:00 a.m. Internment at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, 20953 W. Hoff Road, Elwood IL.
