VIRGINIA BOBBITT Obituary

VIRGINIA BOBBITT CROWN POINT, IN 93 year old, Virginia Bobbitt, of Crown Point, passed away Saturday, October 30, 2010. On June 7, 1917, Virginia was born to Albert and Gertrude (nee Wagner) Parker. Virginia married Everett Henry Friend in November of 1934, and then married Fred Bobbitt on February 21, 1966. Virginia was a cashier for Handy Andy. She attended the Living Hope Church of Merrillville. Virginia was also a Sunday School Teacher and musician for many years. Virginia is survived by her children: John E. (Betty) Friend and Cecillia Sue (Charles ŒChops¹) Conley; daughter-in-law, Lynnett Friend; seven grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. Virginia was preceded in death by her husbands: Everette H. Friend and Fred Bobbitt; parents: Albert and Gertrude Parker; son, Michael G. Friend; sister, Helen Fennel; and brother, John Staton Parker. Friends are invited to visit with the family on Tuesday, November 2, 2010, from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Living Hope Church, 9000 Taft St., Merrillville, IN. Services will take place at the church at 7:00 p.m. with Pastor Doug Sheehy officiating. Graveside services will take place on Wednesday, November 3, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. in Ridgelawn Cemetery. Boersma Funeral Home of Wheatfield is in charge of the arrangements. Please visit boersmafuneralhome.com to send condolences.

Virginia Bobbitt,

To a strong, supportive person who has overcome many obstacles in her life. Words cannot express how grateful we are to have such a wonderful woman in our lives known to her grandchildren as grandma.
