William I. "Bill" Dawson

WILLIAM I. DAWSON VALPARAISO, IN William I. "Bill" Dawson, 86, of Valparaiso, passed away Monday, March 10, 2014 at the Horton VNA Hospice Center. He was born October 7, 1927 in Battle Creek, MI to Francis and Nina (Mann) Dawson. Bill served in the U.S. Army and had been a bus driver with Gary Transit. After retirement he worked as a driver for CSI. Survivors include his wife, Yukiko (Esashi) Dawson; and four children: Carry Parsons of Valparaiso, Kirby (Cheryl) Dawson of Hanna, Julie (Richard) Cash of Auburn and Rande (Amy) Dawson of Valparaiso; four grandchildren: Timothy Cash, Amanda Cash, Anthony Parsons and Bryan Dawson; two great grandchildren: Matthew and Abigail Cash; and one sister, Joyce "Jay" Maudlin of Valdosta, GA. He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant brother; three sisters: Phyllis, Pat and Claire; and one grandson, Derrick. Cremation arrangements are being handled by Moeller Funeral Home, with burial of ashes to take place at Angelcrest Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to VNA Hospice of Porter County.
