William Eck Obituary

William "Bill" G. Eck Lake Village, IN William "Bill" G. Eck, age 63, of Lake Village, IN passed away peacefully on March 26, 2006 at home, surrounded by his family and friends after a brave fight against Cancer. He was born on May 18, 1942 in Gary, IN. He is preceded in death by his parents, Adam and Ella Eck; brothers: John and James; sister, Marlene. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Royanne Eck; daughter, Elaine (Robert) Berg; son, William (Cally) Eck; grandchildren: Robert William Berg, Rachel Ann Berg and Renee Elizabeth Berg. Also survived by a sister, Barbara Lis; brothers: Raymond (Delphine) Eck, Robert (Lucy) Eck; and a host of other loving relatives and friends. Bill worked as a Pipefitter for Local 597 for 25 years. He was a lifelong Roman Catholic and a member of St. Augusta Catholic Church. Bill was an avid fisherman and loved to take mini vacations to his trailer in Southern Indiana every summer with his family. Bill was a veteran of the US Army and a member of American Legion Post, Lake Village, IN. Royal Order of the Moose Lodge, Hobart, IN and the VFW, Merrillville, IN. He will be missed especially by his loving grandchildren who affectionately call him "Papa". Funeral services for William "Bill" Eck will be held on Thursday, March 30, 2006 at 10:00 AM at a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Augusta Catholic Church, Lake Village, IN with Father Stephen Snoich officiating. Visitation will be on Wednesday, March 29, 2006 from 2-8 PM with a Rosary at 7 PM at Jackson Funeral Service, 200 Third St., SW, DeMotte, IN. Interment at Chapel Lawn Cemetery, Schererville, IN.
