William F. Roaden age 88, peacefully passed away Friday, January 24, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. Bill was born March 21, 1925 to Rev. William and Lilly Roaden Sr. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Juanita Roaden; children: Michael Roaden, Patricia (Manuel) Fuentes, Edward (late Gerry) Roaden and family member, Jim Roaden; grandchildren: Patrick, Alicia, Michael, Samantha, Jeffrey, Nikki, Steve and Kathy; great grandchildren; Carson, Payton, Emme, Trace, Skylar, Marris, Benjamin and Chadwell and soon to be born, baby Fuentes. Preceded in death by his parents; children,Terry Roaden and Ella Chadwell and grandson, Jeffrey. William was the last survivor of twelve siblings. Bill retired from Consolidated Freightways with 34 years of service. He was a very dedicated Christian of the Southern Baptist faith and pastored many churches throughout his adult life. Bill was one of the oldest members of First Baptist Church and a Sunday school teacher for adult men. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, reading and studying scripture and spent many hours at his computer staying in touch with family and friends. Bill was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be missed but never forgotten by his family and friends. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, January 30, 2014 at 10:00 AM at the First Baptist Church 324 N. Colfax Griffith, IN with Pastors Scott Hobbs and James Heard officiating. Interment to follow at Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Wednesday, January 29, 2014 from 3:00-7:00 PM at Calumet Park Funeral Chapel 7535 Taft Street Merrillville, IN. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Building Fund, American Cancer Society or Harbor Light Hospice of Crown Point.
