his wife Romina. Funeral
Tuesday from the
SABATINO FUNERAL HOME, 323 Avenue U,
Brooklyn, NY. Funeral Mass 10:30AM at Our Lady of Grace R.C. Church.
Interment to follow at St. John's Cemetery, Middle
Village, Queens. Reposing Sunday & Monday from 2 to 5 & 7 to 9PM. In lieu of flowers the family has requested
donations be made to one's favorite charity in Joseph's Memory.
To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.

I only met the man once but I instantly felt like I knew him for years. He was the type of guy who made you feel comfortable to be around. His son Joe was my housemate. He was very charismatic and had a positive energy about him that you don't get very often these days. During the brief period of time I got to spend with him, he told stories about the old days and was funny as hell. The one thing that I truly admired about him was the support and devotion he showed towards his kids. At the time, little Joe had just got a new job and it was his first day. He was excited and happy but also a little nervous (which was very understandable.) Turning to his father for support, I listened in on the speakerphone conversation. He coached him through how to deal with certain customers and gave him many tips and great advice (mentioning his past experiences with jobs when he was Joe's age) To me, he sounded like the most sincere, loving father you could ask for. He ended with "I love you son and I know you'll do great." For some reason it really touched me and I'll never forget it. Although I didn't know him for too long I could really tell he was a great man and family came first. RIP Joe Cavera
