ABRAHAM BERNSTEIN

BERNSTEIN--Abraham, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on December 24, 2024, at the age of 86 at his home, with family, in Jericho, New York. Known to his family and friends as Abe and Pa, he was a man of courage, positivity, humor, and wisdom. A devoted husband to his wife of 64 years, Adrienne, Abe was the cornerstone of a family that he cherished deeply. Abe was raised in Oyster Bay, New York, attended Oyster Bay High School ('56) and Hofstra University ('60), and thereafter worked many years as an investment advisor. He is survived by his wife Adrienne, two loving daughters, Lorin Litner and Andrea Bernstein, who were his pride and joy. He was a proud grandfather to Zachary Litner, with whom he shared a special bond. Abe's family also included his son-in-law, Alan Litner, whom he regarded with deep affection. Abe lived a full and vibrant life, dedicating himself not only to his family but also to his passions. He was an avid skier, finding joy on the slopes, and had a love of gardening that brought him peace and fulfillment. Abe was also an accomplished runner, earning the remarkable title of "one of the top fastest Jews in America, (for his age group)" - a distinction he wore with pride and humor. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Gutterman's in Woodbury, New York, on Friday, December 27, 2024, at 3pm. Donations may be made to the Feinstein Institutes for Medical Research, honoring Abe's legacy and his courage in the face of illness. May his memory be a blessing and a reminder to live life to its fullest.
