ADELAIDE SEGERMAN

SEGERMAN--Adelaide, passed away on Friday, August 12, 2022. She was born to Abram and Estelle Peyser on November 19, 1924, and raised in Far Rockaway, NY, with her older brother Arnold. Addie met Herbert Segerman, an army buddy of Arnold's, and they married in 1946. The two led a charmed life with their love for each other, their children Nan and Andy, art, music, theater, and Japan. After Herb's passing in 1983, Addie forged a long relationship with Irwin Naitove. They lived in New York Coty and Mt. Holly, Vermont, where they built a log cabin and enjoyed a life that included snowshoeing, hiking, and gardening. Addie was creative, funny, and adventuresome. She had great style, running the gamut from her buffalo plaid shirts to Chanel suits. She was a rug hooker, watercolorist, interior designer, and all-around creative human. Most important in her life was family. She loved deeply and was the devoted matriarch who kept in close contact with all her children, grandchildren, cousins, extended family, and friends. Addie is survived by her children, Andrew Segerman and Nan Jackson, grandchildren Michael and Ashley Segerman, Christopher, Peter, and William Jackson, nephews Tom Peyser, his wife Carol, and children Genny and Alex, Tony Peyser, his wife Kathy and son Jeremy and her cousins Vicki and Alison Olesky. For over 60 years, Addie vacationed in Grand Lake Stream, Maine, fishing in the beautiful lakes surrounding the famed fishing hole. She relished her time there and shared her experience with family and friends.
