Even in retirement Adrienne followed her passion for securing funding for Music in Gotham. I will always remember the many meetings we had at the Graduate Center toiling over the preparation of grant proposal budgets. I extend my condolences to the family upon your loss.

My sympathies to all the family at this sad time.

I knew Adrienne mainly as a musicologist. She was an inspiring writer and researcher, a model of dignity and graciousness, intelligence and keep perception, in all her work. She was extraordinarily effective in her support of gender equity in music history and in academia. Her feminist approaches to musical scholarship continue to be a model for us all.

Dearest Linda,

I send my deepest sympathy, empathy and condolences to you, Joe, Jonathan, Alex and the entire family.at this time of grief and loss. Though the notice in the NYT was brief, I marveled at how much it captured of Adrienne as I knew her.

I wii remember Adrienne and my interactions with her with a sense of how largely she fed her soul while enriching others, and with the easy admiration and affection I felt for her.
