He was a knowledgeable authority on the bus lines in the New York area who generously shared his knowledge with other enthusiasts. He will not be replaced.

Mr. Alan Linsky was truly an amazing historian, with a vast amount of knowledge of the New York City area, as well as his favorite fabled Green Bus Lines which he also worked for, which ran many local, and some express bus routes in Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Queens from 1925 until January 8, 2005.
On January 9, 2005 Green Bus Lines were taken over by the MTA-New York City Transit's bus and surface transit division. Job well done Mr. Linsky, now you may join your comrade Green Bus Lines in the sky. May you rest in peace.
