ALAN SLOATE

SLOATE--Alan R. 1935-2025. Alan R. Sloate died on February 24, 2025, at age 90 in Mamaroneck, New York. Born on February 22, 1935 to Kalman and Elsie Sloate. He was raised in Brooklyn, New York. Alan attended Columbia University where he received a Bachelor of Arts in 1955, and received a Juris Doctorate degree in 1958 from Yale University. He married Phyllis Dreilinger in 1959, and they celebrated their 65th anniversary last year. Alan served his country honorably in the US Army. He worked for the SEC and several prominent law firms. His negotiating skills led him to become corporate counsel for Mobil Oil. Alan supported numerous charitable causes and served as an officer for the Rotary Club of Larchmont. He is survived by his wife Phyllis Sloate; two sons, Kenneth (Patricia) and Paul; four grandchildren: Elliott, Jordan, Stacey (David Glanzman), Samuel (Jenny), and one great-granddaughter, Isla. He is also survived by his sister, Laura Sloate. He was predeceased by his brother Martin Sloate.
