Thank you Al for all you have done. You are truly one of a kind and will be missed by so many. In my 30 years at Marchon there is so much for me to reflect upon. You were one of the greatest leaders ,mentors and public speakers I have ever met in my life. You made Marchon a family and laid the foundation for passion, hard work and the attitude that made us want to climb MT Everest for you. I am and will always be eternally greatful to have known you and have been part of the Marchon Family. You willl always hold a special place in my life and in my heart. With a heavy heart I want to give my deepest condolences to the Berg family.

This to Al Berg's family. I came to know Al through business, but our encounters were mostly social, sharing time with common friends in his industry.
His passing is a shock. So young and full of potential to do more good things than the considerable accomplishments he recorded during his rise to success in the optical field. In that field he was not merely a noted and respected merchant, he proctored many of his peers not as gifted and pushed them to be stars in their own right. No need to list them here. They know who they are.
And after his first conquest he didn't stop sharing/giving. Beyond his chosen industry he applied his many talents to benefit his community and his fellow jews. Not everyone followed him in this endeavor, but he served as an example for the benefit of the greater community.
I know I was better for having met and known him.
My best to his proud family and friends. May his memory serve as a blessing.

The world lost an incredible human being - Al Berg. He was and always will be the epitome of a highly respected leader. A mentor for me for so many years and one of the few people I looked up to. A larger than life man who when entering a room or stepping up to a mic had the utmost respect and attention of everybody in that room. With a heavy heart I am blessed to have worked with a true legend in our field and in many peoples hearts. Good bye ole friend.

No one matched Al's passion and strategic thinking about the business. He inspired everyone to do their best, he also was willing to learn. He was a wonderful supporter and friend. So many loved him, me included.
My sincere condolences to his family and wide circle of friends.

I met Al decades ago when he founded Marchon and, in particular, when the company opened its headquarters in Italy. I remember his personality and his broad friendly smile. I have always admired his entrepreneurial ability. Sincere condolences to the family.
