Alice's grace and kindness as mentor and teacher was a salve to countless anxious, inexperienced clinicians in training. He skills as a listener inspired them to be patient and expectant with her students and to this day is remembered as a 'child whisperer'. When she brought her dogs to the Child Study Center, it was accepted as a gift to us all. Anna Freud's chows knew her kindness and animal handling skills well. She defined another era of tolerance, grace and excellence that we ache for now.
