Andrew Topolski

TOPOLSKI--Andrew, Artist and Teacher, dies at 56. Mr. Topolski was an accomplished and unique artist residing in Brooklyn and Callicoon, NY. He was a devoted art teacher for over 36 years. He taught Foundation at Parsons School of Design. He was born in Buffalo, NY. Mr. Topolski was an exceptional and prolific artist whose work includes mixed media drawings and sculptures. His work has been his personal message board for the social, political and historical events that deeply affect him and shape the collective memory of humankind. He exhibited extensively in Europe and the US. Mr. Topolski's work is in many major public and private collections, including the National Gallery of Art. He was well recognized for his devotion and passion to his work, his teaching and most notably his unfailing warm heart and distinguished presence. Mr. Topolski died February 14, 2008 after a brief illness. He is survived by his devoted and loving wife, Cindy, His adoring children James and Julia, His parents John and Lorraine and his brothers, Ronald and Thomas and sisters-in-law, Diane and Michelle and will be sadly missed by his family and many friends. Services will be held at Pacer Funeral Home in Depew, NY, Monday, February 18th from 2-4 and 7-9.
