ANNETTE CUNNINGHAM

CUNNINGHAM--Annette. Annette Cunningham passed away peacefully in the sure and certain hope of resurrection after a life marked by deep faith, abundant creativity, intellectual curiosity, and an entrepreneurial spirit. Following her graduation from Marymount, Tarrytown she joined the Religious of the Sacred Heart of Mary, a teaching order, earned her masters in Philosophy at Georgetown where she then taught Philosophy before returning to Marymount. Transitioning her talents into the world of public relations at The Irish Export Board, Dunwoody Communications Ltd., and others, Annette spearheaded efforts that touch the lives of Americans to this day - including conceiving and overseeing the installation of the Waterford Crystal Ball that drops in Times Square every New Year's Eve -and making Bailey's Irish Cream a household name. She authored a regular column for the New York-based Irish Echo, the very popular weekly "Street Seens" column in Woman Around Town and published the beloved book, Aunt's: A Celebration of Those Special Women in Our Lives. Annette founded her own company, ASC Int. ltd. - notably one of the first federally registered women- owned and operated companies. Through ASC she successfully represented EU countries introducing their products to the US. Annette is survived by her deeply grateful nieces; Meagen Fay, Alice Bedell, and Sara Baluha and her nephews; Patrick, Edward, and Christopher Fay, and John C. Luby. She also leaves behind their spouses, children, and a legion of beloved friends, all of whom celebrate her as the most special woman in their lives.
