ANTHONY O'CONNOR Obituary

O'CONNOR--Anthony M., (Tony), died August 2, 2024 in Essex, CT. He was 97 years old. He is survived by his wife, Suzanne Perry O'Connor, of 66 years, their sons, Anthony, Jr. and Edward R. (Christi), four grandchildren, and his brother Robert B. O'Connor. He was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law Susan Kearing O'Connor, granddaughter Perry, and brother Fenwick. He was born in New York City, the second son of Robert B. and Mary Wistar O'Connor. After graduation in 1945 from St. Paul's School, Concord, NH he served with the U.S. Marine Corps in North China. Recalled to active duty following graduation from Princeton University in 1950, he enlisted with the Marine Corps Reserve, served at Camp Lejeune, NC and was separated from active duty in 1951. After a rewarding career on Wall Street with Smith Barney, Harris Upham & Company, where he was a first vice president and managing director of the international division, Tony opened his own investment consulting firm, which gave him great satisfaction.
