Antonia Lavanne Obituary

The Voice Faculty of Mannes College The New School for Music mourns the death of our esteemed colleague Antonia Lavanne. Antonia was a mainstay of the Mannes voice department for almost 50 years. She guided her students with intelligence, elegance, wit and supreme musicality. We send our thoughts and prayers to Antonia's family, friends, colleagues and the many students whose lives were touched by her grace. She will be missed.

Mrs. Lavanne taught me voice at Mannes while I was in junior high high school in the 1960s. She did so many wonderful things with my voice, and I'll be forever grateful.
