Arlene was my professor at Parsons in 2013. I was going through a very difficult time and she showed me so much kindness and care, in a way no one else did. I will never forget her kindness and want her family to have another example of what a wonderful person she was. She taught me to knit and I recently picked it up again. I will always remember her when I knit now.

Arlene has been my best teacher and friend for 30+ years. She is such a talented artist, and has given me so much support, guidance and recognition throughout my artistic and personalty growth. From taking her class at Parsons, to her attending my RISD MFA graduation exhibition, and sharing thoughts and embracing each other with hugs through emails, I know I´m just one of many souls she has touched, and will continue to touch - Arlene, forever in my mind, my warmest hugs to you, with gratitude and respect. Miss you, my wonderful teacher and friend.

Arlene was a supremely talented, extremely kind individual who was a joy to know. In her last few years, I was fortunate enough to have established an email correspondence with Arlene, in which we discussed many of our common interests, i.e., crafts, music, and animals. I will truly miss her.

So so sorry for your loss. I shall always remember Arlene's smile, and chatting with her at TSGNY meetings, or taking the subway back to Brooklyn afterwards with her. It was a privilege to know such quiet talent.
