What is there about time that can make a person feel like such fool? For years I have wanted to write a letter to Ms. Cook to tell her that I thought she was a truly great singer. She captured my admiration when I heard her sing my favorite song of hers "My White Knight" on Broadway. No one can sing that song like Barbara. It spoiled the movie for me because she wasn't in it. I send my sympathy to her family, friends, and fans. We have all lost a great person and great talent. L. Amigh (Lancaster, PA)

I have been a fan of Barbara Cook for over 40 years and was very fortunate to have seen her perform 5 times over the years. I also got to talk to her and she was kind enough to autograph some pictures for me. I can relive those memories with all the recordings of her glorious voice.
My deepest sympathy to Adam and to all her friends and family. I love you Barbara!

I discovered Barbara Cook as young man in my 30's, and have been a fan for over 30 years having seen her on stage in Washington DC and NYC. Her classic soprano voice, and music made my life better just listening to her albums. May God bless her for the special talents she shared with her audiences. Thank you for making our world a better place, Miss Cook.

At Romans 15:13, we read: May the God who gives hope fill you with all joy and peace by your believing, that you may abound in hope with power of holy spirit. Yes, hope can be likened, not to a candle in the darkness, but to the brilliant rays of the morning sun, filling one's life with peace, happiness, purpose, and courage. My sincere condolences.

My mother died a few years back at the age of 95. After 1985 when my father passed she was not so keen on the theater, flying or wearing her hearing aids, but if I told her Barbara was doing s show in NYC or London, I was told to buy the airtickets and of we went. We saw many of her wonderful shows both in the States and London. Sadlers Wells - Cafe Royal. We loved every one of them.
My husband to be through a friend of his in NYC Show Business got her autograph for me. Today it is even more treasured than ever before. God Bless you Barbara and Thank You. We enjoyed every single minute in your company. To you Adam..be strong..like me you had a fantastic Mum. One who will for ever be remembered and loved.

First heard her sing at the small cabaret "The Brothers and Sisters" on West 45th in the 1970s. I will never forget her last appearance at Tanglewood a few years ago. A magical night. May She Rest In Peace. Davidson Garrett, a longtime fan

I am the guy who reached out to Barbara to appear at my cabaret room Brothers and Sisters. The opening night I cried along with the entire audience and with Barbara as she made her way down the aisle singing and hit the stage. I am so proud to have played this pivotal role in returning to us this angel of music. For 12 weeks I urged her to continue and for 12 weeks there was never an empty seat. I remember vividly the night her young son, Adam, was bought by his stepmom and my telling him how much we all loved his mom. Please accept my most heartfelt sympathy and my thank you for sharing your mama with us. From Jeffrey Zeiner

I am devastated at the passing of the greatest singer of our time our beloved Barbara I had the great joy of seeing Barbara about 5 times in the last 10 years when she came to Bostons Symphony Hall What memories Ihave of such magical evenings truly unforgettable music and her funny, down to earth comments were priceless. Her last performance in Boston was with John Pizzarelli .I met John after the show and he commented on her amazing energy level. He said, My God, she's 85 and she just goes from one thing to another. I recently read her honest, wonderful autobiography and was amazed at all the things she overcame in her lifetime. A one of a kind unbelievably talented performer. My condolences to her son Adam. You had a truly amazing Mom

My sympathy to all the family at this time of your loss. I was first introduced to the voice of Barbara Cook by two great friends while visiting NYC in 1975. We did not get a chance to see Barbara perform that weekend because of a cancellation. Never the less, I became a faithful fan ever since. I did however, get to see her perform, - again because of a cancellation - but this time it worked in my favor. That cancellation was due a unfortunate bus accident of a dance ensemble scheduled to perform in Scranton, PA on February 24, 1984. Due to that cancellation, Barbara Cook was called upon to perform instead. How thrilled I was to obtain tickets for a friend and myself. What a wonderful , exciting evening. 19 glorious songs belted out along with Barbara's candid remarks in between. Never to be duplicated... Even though I recorded the show on a old cassette tape, yes, I sat in the third row center, and actually got a couple of photos, including Barbara and Wally's autographs on my Playbill, I never forgot those moments and continue to be a ardent fan for LIFE> I have been visiting the web sites watching video's & playing all of the Barbara Cook's music since Tuesday and will continue to do so for a long time. No one really captivated that musical part of my heart "TILL THERE WAS YOU.... RIP Sweet Lady.

The world has lost one of its greatest treasures. Listening to Barbara Cook sing was so delightful as she had a style that was unique & pure, yet beautiful & honest all at the same time. Although there are many, I think my favs of hers will always be from the "Disney Collection". I can just hear her singing now "When You Wish Upon A Star" up there with the angels. RIP Barbara - you did REALLY GOOD!

Barbara Cook was Ado Annie in Oklahoma in the road show in 1954 with Florence Henderson and she was terrific. My friend, Betty Koerber was one of the dancers and followed Barbara in her career. Betty died in 2016 and was married to Bruce Glover and the mother of Crispin Glover. Barbara had a beautiful voice and I remember her in Oklahoma as an outstanding performer.
