BETTY JANE FINNERTY

FINNERTY--Betty Jane (nee Trumpbour). Born May 5, 1926 in Jamaica, New York, BJ lived a long and fruitful life as a retired publishing and public relations executive. As a snowbird for many years between Westhampton, New York and Delray Beach, Florida, she died peacefully in Delray on November 12, 2025. The beloved wife of the late Peter X. Finnerty, aunt of Jason Trumpbour and his wife, Kelly Keenan Trumpbour, as well as great-aunt to their son, Graham Keenan Trumpbour, of Brooklyn, New York, stepmother to the late Brian L. Finnerty (Tedde), Megan F. Pindyck (Larry); Mary Kay Samko (Bill). She is also survived by many step-grandchildren and great- grandchildren. She was assisted for many years by Ann Swank, Dee Mulryan and Rosalind Lee Brown. BJ was a 1948 graduate of Manhattanville College. A pioneering career woman, she worked for Time-Life, where, among other roles, she was personal secretary to Clare Boothe Luce. She later served as vice president of Letitia Baldrige Enterprises. The funeral liturgy will be celebrated on Monday, December 8th at 11:00am at St. Vincent Ferrer Church, Delray Beach, Florida with internment on Friday, December 12th at Laurelwood Cemetery, Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania. Memorial contributions to The Elizabeth R. Trumpbour Scholarship Endowment Fund at Convent of the Sacred Heart Greenwich, 1177 King Street, Greenwich, CT 06831, would be appreciated.
