BOYCE BENNETT Obituary

BENNETT--Boyce Paller, passed away at home in Manhattan on December 31, 2023. He was born in Los Angeles on November 4, 1927, to Arthur Bennett, a pharmacist and inventor, and Anita Paller Bennett, a pianist and artist. After medical school at USCF, he moved to New York and began work in surgical pathology. He worked at Einstein Hospital for 33 years, doing ground-breaking research on immunology and renal pathology. He had a gift for teaching medical students and was awarded Teacher of the Year. He also served as head of surgical pathology and chair of the medical board. He moved to Columbia-Presbyterian Hospital in 1997 and ran the pathology service until retiring in 2004. He spent two years at hospitals in France and returned there many times. Boyce was a devoted father, mountain climber, skier, cyclist, and world traveler; a wine connoisseur, a student of history and art, and a fine pianist with a degree from Juilliard. His culinary skills put the rest of ours to shame. He was preceded in death by his first son Hal Elgie Bennett and survived by his wife, Mary Ann Caws, children Tom Bennett (Dede O'Mara) and Alec Bennett (Maxime Philippe), and many loving family members and friends. No flowers, please.
