CHARLES JABLONSKI Obituary

JABLONSKI--Charles H. Charles Jablonski (Charlie) died suddenly, swiftly, and unexpectedly, on October 25, 2025 at his beloved cabin on Lake George (age 69). He attended Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and enjoyed a long career in the broadcast industry. His work spanned over 40 years, including Vice President of Technology and Engineering at NBC and numerous Olympics starting in Seoul 1988. His work in broadcasting resulted in a dozen Emmy's. After a move to California, he acted as a consultant for various media, technology and investment funds. He gave freely of his time through the RPI Engineering Advisory Board and as President of SMPTE; he was sure to support younger engineers with a focus on underrepresented groups in the industry. Charles is survived by his wife Ellen Ackerman, sister Carolyn Jablonski Hodges (John) niece Cola (Ben) Solwitz and grandniece Tamsen.
