Charles Thorpe Stewart

STEWART--Charles Thorpe. Cornell University mourns the passing of devoted alumnus, trustee emeritus, Presidential Councillor, former Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees, and life member of the Weill Cornell Medical College Board of Overseers, Charles Thorpe Stewart, 1940. His stalwart leadership, commitment to philanthropic interests, and ardent dedication to Cornell University will long be remembered. Mr. Stewart and his wife, Patricia Carry Stewart, 1950 (emeritus trustee and life overseer), were honored by Cornell with the Frank H. T. Rhodes Exemplary Alumni Service Award in 2002. The Board of Trustees recognized the Stewarts as Foremost Benefactors of Cornell in 1995. Mr. Stewart was a remarkable leader and friend who will be missed by the entire Cornell community. We express our deepest sympathy to his wife, Pat, his daughter, Jennifer J. Stewart, his son, C. Evan Stewart, 1974, his granddaughter, Charlotte Stewart, his brothers, George B.
