Christophe Kutner Obituary

After a brave and extended fight, Christophe Kutner died on October 29, 2016 from liver cancer. He had already beaten tremendous odds, living longer than his doctors anticipated. He spent his final hours in his beloved home and had a peaceful ending in his sleep.

Christophe always had a powerful spirit and lived a very creative life. He was well known as a talented fashion photographer and dedicated the last several years to an extended documentary project, the "State of the United States". He traveled around the U.S., seeking beauty in places where others often don't: stark landscapes, decrepit buildings and weathered homes.

During his illness, he was able to move upstate where he took daily walks to the lake, worked on his wonderfully eccentric wood sculptures and most importantly, spend time with his beautiful ten year old daughter Lou Lou.

As a father, he was always present at school events and every choir performance. He played tirelessly with Lou Lou and other kids at the playground and even had Lou Lou's name tattooed across his hands. His love and generosity for her were truly unparalleled.

A memorial service will be held on November 16 at 6:30pm at Peter Jarema Funeral home in NYC.

Christophe was a very talented photographer and we loved working with him on both Earnshaw's and Footwear Plus magazines.
We will miss him.
