I went to see the movie "Coco" yesterday and came home thinking about my childhood friend Nina, and all the little pranks we played including conning the "egg man" out of 2 dozen eggs and throwing them at cars, and then crossing the road on a dare with our eyes closed, and playing in the barn in the house in Eastham or Hingham ( I can't remember much but the house was dark and had kerosene heaters). I remember Cereal night at the Barnes..... Nina and I were between 4 and 7 years old at the time! So, I was terribly saddened to find this obituary! In the movie, you cannot stay in the land of the dead once you are no longer remembered. Well, Nina is certainly remembered! I don't know if I ever met Nina's sisters Phoebe and Lea because they were "big girls" but I remember going to an event at Charlie's boarding school and riding in the back of the family station wagon where Nina and I could make faces at the cars behind us. Years later my mother told me that Nina was in the Peace Corps in Africa at the same time I was in the Peace Corps in Colombia. I wondered sometimes if she ever remembered me..... Sending my sympathies to the family.... Rose Shelton Horsley Cruz

Such sad news. Cornelia was my Washington Heights neighbor, and quilting pal! Such a talented artist.
