CURTIS ELLIS Obituary

ELLIS--Curtis. Curtis Ellis, fervent crusader for the American worker, senior policy director for America First Policies and Trump 2016 campaign advisor; passed away February 14th at 67 after a valiant battle with cancer. He was a true patriot whose cogent thinking and activism initiated the policies that brought manufacturing plants and jobs back to America. One of the most robust voices opposing America's membership in the jobs- endangering Trans-Pacific Partnership, he served as special advisor to the Secretary of Labor in the Trump-Pence administration. Along with industrialist Jack Davis he co-founded the American Jobs Alliance, promoting "Buy American and Hire American" policies. A prolific writer and astute political commentator, Curtis had decades of experience in broadcast and journalism. He frequently appeared on Fox Business and Fox News, previously wrote for CNN and MSNBC, and wrote for publications including The Financial Times, Time Magazine and American Greatness, produced stories for 60 minutes, NPR, NBC and HBO and was heard regularly on radio stations across the country. He was media liaison for the New York State Senate Central Staff; and held a senior staff position in the U.S. House of Representatives. Curtis had a brilliant mind and quick wit. He was a real New Yorker with dashing style, a true American hero who strove to make our nation a better place. He is survived by his beloved partner Maxine Albert and twin brothers, Paul and Rick Ellis. He will be deeply missed by his loved ones, friends, colleagues and all who were lucky enough to have met him.

I grew up with the Ellis family on Post Road in Pompton Plains, NJ, and also went to school with Rick, Paul and Curtis. I am not surprised that Curtis was an advocate for his passionate beliefs, It was a great place to grow up. We all learned from each other. I'll never forget Curtis' great smile and crew cut.

As the author of In the Jaws of the Dragon, I had known Curtis many years and I knew him as a stalwart and courageous comrade in arms. He was a great American and the United States is the poorer from his passing. Eamonn Fingleton
