Cynthia was a dear friend of my father. She and her husband always treated me with kindness while visiting her as a young child. When I was in boarding school we would write letters to each other. The richness of forty-five shared years with my best friend, mentor, inspiration, role model, guide, and family, my person, outweighs this profound loss. From the moment we first shook hands, to the moment we held hands as you left this world, we shared so much - happiness, sadness, delight, tragedy, acceptance, planning, conspiring and, most memorably, laughter... so many years of laughter. I still want to call you and tell you things that will make you laugh, I loved being able to do that, even through your final days.
Who would I be without you? I need never know; you will always be with me. Love you with all my heart.
