DANIEL FRANK

FRANK--Daniel Heming. 67, died in Manhattan on May 24, 2021. Dan loved thinking and reading, and was fortunate that, as the editorial director at Pantheon Books, he could pursue his passions at work. Dan was always intent on finding or reissuing works that engaged with new or original ideas, and he found these across many fields and media from scientific and medical writings to graphic novels. Outside of work, Dan was a devoted husband to his wife Patty and doting father to his three sons, Jasper, Lucas, and Cole. He loved playing tennis, swimming, walking his poodle (first Atticus, then Stella), spending summers in the Adirondacks, and traipsing around Europe in search of inspiring churches, frescoes, museums and espressos. He is survived by his wife, children, grandson Asa, and two of his sons' partners Mara and Nicola. His generous conversation, unmistakable laugh, and warm smile will be sorely missed. Donations to the Saranac Lake Free Library are encouraged in lieu of flowers.
