BAUM--David. M David M Baum, 57, died tragically on Thursday, May 19 in a car accident near his home in Short Hills, NJ. Raised in Columbus, OH, David earned his B.S. in Accounting from Indiana University in 1986. David met his beloved wife Andrea while working together at Goldman, Sachs & Co. in New York. After an extraordinary 17 year career in Mergers & Acquisitions at the firm, David retired in 2003 as a Partner and co-head of M&A in the Americas. David then combined his passion for business and golf by acquiring the Golf Odyssey travel newsletter which he later merged with Revolution Golf and ultimately sold to The Golf Channel/NBC Universal. David was the current President of the Vineyard Golf Club and a panelist for Golf Magazine. He was deeply involved with his synagogue, and served on numerous corporate boards. A uniquely textured man, David built extraordinary connections with people, both socially and professionally, and was the true definition of a mensch. Loving husband of Andrea Terzi Baum for 30 years; devoted father of Jeffrey, Alyssa, and Josh; cherished brother of Randy (and Betsy) Baum, and of Amy (and Steve) Tessler; adored son of the late Eric and Simmie Baum.
