DAVID McCORMACK Obituary

McCORMACK--David Ross. Our beloved son, and loving eldest brother, David, died on February 18, 2022 at age 32. He is survived by his parents, Tom and Betsy, and his brothers, Mark, Jack, Sam and Matt, as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins. David was born in New York City on October 20, 1989. He and his family lived in the City until he was seven, when his family moved to Scarsdale. He attended the Edgemont schools where he was a stand-out performer. He graduated from Edgemont High School in 2008. Among other things, he served as captain of the varsity football team his senior year. He attended the University of Chicago, and earned his B.A. in economics, with honors, graduating in 2012. David returned to New York City after graduation and began his professional life as a management consultant. He loved his work, and the people he worked with, at Huron Consulting Group. Those that worked with him remember him as a caring, devoted and skilled colleague. He read vociferously, took an interest in everything and everyone, had a great sense of humor, and loved his many friends. David knew the answer to your question quicker than Google, enjoyed a wide range of music, volunteered at food kitchens, and was a crossword puzzle aficionado. He was intensely devoted to the Dallas Cowboys. He loved his parents and brothers immensely and would agonize over the smallest detail to make his immediate family happy. He was a forgiving soul and never held a grudge. His family loved him very much. A funeral service is scheduled for 11:30am on February 23rd at Congregation Kol Ami, White Plains; with burial to follow at Mount Hope Cemetery in Hastings-On-Hudson. Shiva will be held at his family's home in Scarsdale through March 1st.

We were deeply saddened to learn the terrible news about David. Our son Ben and David were good friends at EHS, and lived together after college. May his memory be a blessing to you.

My heart is broken for you. The worst thing that could ever happen to a parent has happened to you and your lovely family. Tom is stuck here in the airport in Florida trying his hardest to get to you. They keep changing planes and departures. He loves you Tom. He listened to the entire ceremony and was so touched by how well and lovingly you all spoke. An outstanding tribute to an outstanding young man. I have no words to soothe you simply to say how very sorry I am Peggy

Dear Betsy, Tom and Family,

It was with great sadness that Susan and I learned the terrible news about David. You have our deepest condolences. As you may recall, David and our son Scott were teammates for several years on the Edgemont wrestling teams, and Tom and I knew each other at Stanford, where we were members of Eating Clubs and had mutual friends. We would have made a shiva call in person, but we moved last year to Massachusetts to live closer to our older son Adam, our daughter-in-law Beth and our grandchildren. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. May David´s memory be a blessing!
