DONALD GERBER

GERBER--Donald A., MD., died on March 17, 2023 at age 90. Donald was a Professor Emeritus of Medicine at SUNY Health Sciences University Downstate Medical School where he taught, mentored and carried out research for over 50 years. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle and brother. Donald graduated from Stuyvesant High School, Columbia College, and Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. Above all, he loved to help people. He leaves behind his loving and devoted wife, Marcia Gerber MD, children Susan Gerber MD (Anthony LoSasso PhD), Andrew Gerber MD, PhD (Andrea Gerber PhD), and four adored granddaughters, Abby, Leah, Samantha and Lila, as well as a sister Hazel Schizer. He will be greatly missed.
