Dov Matz Obituary
Matz, Dov, March 28, 1945– November 8, 2021. Born to Lazar and Chassia Matz in Tel Aviv Israel, he traveled by boat to New York in 1955 and settled with his family in Queens. Dov was a proud alumni of Forest Hills High School and attended Baruch College and NYU for graduate school.
Dov was a successful entrepreneur, leading Matco-Norca, founded by his father, and built it into an international success by forging lifelong relationships around the world with suppliers, customers and his team over many years. With his work, he was able to travel around the world, and give back to his community. Dov served as the President and a Board member for the Mt. Kisco Hebrew Congregation where he found brotherhood and belonging.
He lived life to the fullest with a smile, a song for any occasion and a shirt from every place he and Beth ever visited. While his biggest enjoyment was spending time with his immediate family and extended family in Israel and Italy, he also enjoyed a nightly egg-cream, a fine meal, any sport on the tv, golfing with his friends, bagels and laughs with Beth in the morning, and watching the grandkids and friends play in the pool.
He is survived by his beloved wife Beth, of 59 years, his children Melissa and Nora, Elliot Kraus, Illana Matz and grandchildren; Owen and Madeline Kraus, Evelyn and Leo Matz and a large extended family as well as the friends he collected and cherished throughout his life. He is predeceased by his son Michael.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research or the Alzheimer's Foundation of America.

I just learned of Dov's passing and want to offer my condolences. I called Marco NorCal to ask about some plumbing equipment, because I know theirs is always a cut above the others and asked about Dov. So sorry Ito get the bad news.
I first met Dov in the mid 1980's when he walked into the small printshop I managed in Mt. Kisco. He gave us the job of printing a catalog for Marco Norca. It was a much larger job than we would normally have taken and I think Dov knew that it would push our abilities to the limit, but he gave it to us anyway.
Ten years later, when I started my own small printshop in Putnam County I walked into the new Matco headquarters building in Brewster and was without hesitation shown into his office. He immediately recognized me from the previous job I had done. We spent a half an hour catching up on things and he gave me business advice and encouragement as a young startup business. He also gave me print work to do.
Whenever I stopped by over the years he was friendly and generous to a fault. Dov was a true gentleman and a great businessman.

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Dov. We became fast friends through our business relationship and enjoyed a few drinks sitting around the fire at my home. He was a fine gentleman and I will miss him.
