ELIZABETH TAYLOR Obituary

HARRIS TAYLOR--Elizabeth

"Lee" Colgate. 82, passed away peacefully at home in Pasadena, CA on September 20, 2018. Born in New York City, NY on November 27, 1935 to Francis Russell and Elizabeth Rumbough Cowles. Lee attended The Chapin School as a young girl then went on to receive her bachelor's degree from New York University and a Masters in Social Work from Columbia University. After marrying Morgan Hovey Harris, Jr. in New York in 1962, they moved to Los Angeles, CA. After the death of her beloved husband in 1992, she found love again with John David Taylor, an attorney in Pasadena, CA. She devoted her time to special needs children and was an accomplished sculptor. She is survived by her husband John David Taylor, her sister Marcia Cowles Dean, her children Elizabeth Colgate Harris, Jennifer Hovey Harris, and Stephanie Morgan Harris Taylor, her five grandchildren, Morgan Rose, Joseph Harris, Addison Mia, Brody Stephan and Elizabeth Annabelle, her nieces Lee Hodges and Nina de Burgh, her nephew Richard Platt, her step-children Jean Cherniss and Annie Garner, her step-grandchildren Eric Cherniss, Anne Cherniss, and Emma Cherniss along with her step-greatgrandsons Liam and Hunter Cherniss, her sculpting mentor Eda Jensen, her assistant Mary Duque and her best friend Mary Rood. In lieu of flowers, gifts in memory of Lee may be directed to Huntington Hospital Office of Philanthropy, 100 W. California Boulevard Pasadena, CA 91105, to support cardiac services.
