Ellen was my dearest friend.: I met her more than forty years ago. We shared a commitment to Radcliffe College and women's education. She and Charles provided light and laughter for everyone. No mountain too high, no valley too low for Ellen's unshakeable optimism and faith. She opened her heart, her home and her universe of friends to help all those who asked for help. She never failed to make the world a better place. I am deeply grateful for having shared part of her journey: her spirit will always be with us.
