Ellen was a kind, generous, and extraordinary woman who loved her family and the legacy of her family. She was so proud to have been named for her artistically talented grandmother, who had an amazing art career in the late 19th and early 20th c. I got to know Ellen in the early 1990s while working on an exhibition project about her grandmother and great-aunts, who were also successful artists. I am so sorry to hear she has been taken from us and I sending healing thoughts to her daughter and extended family.
