ELLIE LIFTON Obituary

LIFTON--Ellie. Our family is heartbroken at our loss. Ellie was a cherished wife to her husband Martin for 63 years. She adored her children Steven and his wife Julie. Bruce, Judie and her husband Ron Bobman; her grandchildren Jason and his wife Jenna, Ali and her husband Conor Bennett, Samantha, Jessie, and Miles; and her great-grandchildren Nell, Lane, and Blair. She was a devoted sister to Harold Unger. Ellie grew up in Belle Harbor, attended Skidmore College, and graduated from Barnard College. She met her husband. Martin, on the boardwalk in Belle Harbor on Yom Kippur which was the beginning of a life long love affair. She was an avid reader, champion tennis player, and established a successful party coordinating business which created magnificent celebrations. Ellie was a founder of the Children's Medical Fund of New York, which was a catalyst for the building of the Cohen Long Island Children's Hospital. She was also a long time active supporter of Federation. Ellie was a resident of Boca Raton for the last 20 years. She played canasta and bridge and enjoyed her many life long friendships Ellie was a beautiful, smart, kind, loving, and elegant woman. She exuded style, grace and class. She was very precious to our family. Ellie loved life, but most of all she loved her family. She will be deeply missed.
