Emily Spiegel Obituary

SPIEGEL--Emily. The officers, Board of Directors, and staff of UJA-Federation of New York mourn with profound sadness the passing of Emily Spiegel, beloved wife of Jerry Spiegel. The Spiegels, dear friends and longtime supporters of UJA-Federation, are inspirational leaders in the New York community, devoted to social and humanitarian causes. Emily's commitment to UJA-Federation lives on through her generous Lion of Judah Endowment, which provides support to the Jewish community in New York, in Israel, and around the globe. We extend our deepest condolences to Jerry; to their children, Pamela and Arthur Sanders and Lise and Jeffrey Wilks; to their grandchildren; and to the entire family. John M. Shapiro, President Jerry W. Levin, Chair of the Board John S. Ruskay, Exec. VP & CEO

My deepest, most heartfelt thoughts are with Jerry and the entire Spiegel family. Nobody can ever take away the memories. I can hear Emily's kind, sweet, loving voice as I write this.

Emiily was a true "one of a kind". She was beautiful, sincere, smart and always fun to be with. She was an incredibly devoted wife to Jerry. We shared her love of music, and shall always remember the last time we saw her, singing along at Canyon Ranch. She shall be missed but never forgotten. Our sincere condolances to the family.
