ERNEST KAFKA Obituary

KAFKA--Dr. Ernest, Died suddenly one week short of his 89th birthday. Valedictorian of his class at Newtown High School, graduate of Harvard College cum laude and Washington University Medical School. Retired psychoanalyst and ex-President of the New York Psychoanalytic Society, teacher, fine art photographer, concert quality pianist, author, world traveler; smart, funny, charming, lover of fine food, good wine, the arts, his family and many friends. Survived by his daughter, Nicole, son Michael (Jill), grandchildren Oliver and Lily, brother Fred (Mindy), nieces and nephews. Reunited with his soul-mate, Barbara, who predeceased him.

Ernsti Kafka, 1936, aged 4. Photo found in my father's photo collection. Ernst was my father's first cousin, twice removed, and my second cousin once removed. Sadly, I never knew him, but he seems a happy chappy.
