EUGENE MORIARTY

MORIARTY--Eugene V. 1924-2021 died peacefully in the Duke University Hospital, North Carolina on February 27, 2021. Virginia S. Moriarty, his wife, predeceased him in 2009. He is survived by his son, Kevin S. Moriarty, his daughter Kathleen H. Moriarty, his sister-in-law, Mary Jane Harvey, and his nieces and nephews. A graduate of Northwestern University with a chemical engineering degree, he lived a full and interesting life, residing in Chicago, London, New York, Seoul, San Francisco, New Jersey, and North Carolina. Pursuing his career at G.D. Searle, Scientific Design, Lummus Company, and Bechtel, he travelled worldwide to negotiate major chemical and energy projects. He had especially fond memories of the time spent in South Korea when he served as a consultant to the US military government for the Korean chemical industry. His quick wit and sunny outlook will be sorely missed.
